The new Theory, Culture & Society Annual Review has just been published.
It contains a really comprehensive section on Georg Simmel. There are some really interesting looking pieces there, plus there are some important new translations of some of Simmel’s essays. A really extensive and important collection of his work. There is also a chronology of Simmel’s work at the end of the section.
The Annual review also includes an article by Nick Gane and Les Back on the promise of the sociological imagination 50 years after the death of C Wright Mills. I was lucky enough to read an early version of this piece. It’s really provocative and will hopefully stir some debate about the nature of sociological research today. It’s a really brilliant piece.
