Reviews of Media Archaeology

It has been quite a few months now since I took over the role of reviews editor for the journal Information, Communication & Society. And over the last couple of months I’ve seen some of the reviews I’ve commissioned beginning to filter through. Before appearing in the journal the publishers also publish an online first version of every review. The reviews actually get published quite quickly on there. So it’s a quite timely resource for keeping up with reviews. I’m going to be commissioning another big stack of reviews in the new year. I’m also going to start adding some links on here to the reviews that are most relevant to this blog. To start that off, we’ve recently had two reviews published online that both reflect on Jussi Parikka’s work on media archaeology (I’m hoping soon to also add a review of the more recent book on media archaeology). I was really keen to secure reviews of these two books. It was one of the first things I decided to do when I took over the section. I thought that they were likely to become influential texts. Find below links to the two reviews (the full reviews need a subscription but the first page of each is open access):
