‘chroniclers of the place’: Saint Etienne’s musical accounts of London

There is an article in The Guardian about the pop band Saint Etienne. The piece talks of how the bands music chronicles London. apparently the band moved to the bright lights from the suburbs, giving them an outsider perspective of place that translated into a lyrical and sonic encounter with place in the music.
